You do not need to machine the springs pads like required on other company valve springs, like Comp Cams These are good for performance cams with up to .590 lift with my VSR1 retainers and positive seals used. Make sure your machine shop is competent in checking clearances or see my video Spring specs: They install at 1.600 to 1.625 height. .910 – .920 coil bind – you need need/should have .080 from coil bind Closed spring pressure is 100-115 lbs. Open spring pressure is below300 lbs. – the “happy” pressure to ensure cam break in and longevity. Do not use steel shields.
